It all began shortly before 2000, at a desk in Milan. Ippolito was reflecting on his life, his distant family and his desire for change. He wanted to live more slowly, closer to the people he loved, and to create a place where children, grandchildren, family and guests could grow up immersed in nature.
His idea immediately excited his two siblings Marco and Sergio and his parents Luciana and Bruno. Together they decided to make this dream a reality.
Ippolito began to search, but not for a simple place: he wanted an authentic one, where the night was truly dark and the stars visible. He studied maps of light pollution and identified an almost black spot on the map: the Maremma, in Alberese, far from artificial lights, perfect for a place of peace, nature and openness.
Podere Montegrappa has a long history: already in the 30s it was born from the division of the Poderl of the Habsburg-Lorraine. In 2000 the Turco family bought the Podere and transformed it into their home, giving life to a vision that combines family, nature and hospitality lived.
Across 24 hectares a family organic agriturismo was born. From 2025 the Ranch on the Pulledraia also became part of the Podere: the horses live in a herd and are looked after individually according to the principles of Horsemanship. The Ranch is led by Heidi, Ippolito’s partner, and fits harmoniously into the family life that makes the Podere so special.
Today Ippolito, Heidi, his parents Luciana and Bruno, together with the families of his sons Marco and Sergio, carry forward their vision: a place where family, nature and hospitality become a single experience, a place where you do not just go on holiday, but truly come home.
